Siletz Valley School is looking for Substitute Teachers to join our 25-26 school year team!

POSITION PURPOSE:  A substitute teacher is responsible for providing instruction, managing the classroom environment, and promoting student learning in the absence of the regular classroom teacher.
 
QUALIFICATION: Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required

• Hold, or be able to secure TSPC Licensure required.
  • An Oregon teaching license with an endorsement in any area
  • Restricted Substitute Teaching License (District sponsorship is required for new applicants)
  • Note: educational transcripts may be asked for but are not required to apply for this job posting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Follow all policies, rules and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good teaching practice dictates.
• Remain in assigned classroom until all students have been dismissed for the day
• Assume responsibility for overseeing pupil behavior in class and surrounding areas.
• Review with principal or designee, all plans, duties and schedules to be followed during the teaching day, teaches the outlined lesson, maintain as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Complete a daily report or evaluation to communicate any pertinent information resulting from the day's events.
• Report safety, sanitary and fire hazards immediately to supervisor.
• Comply with applicable District, state, local and federal laws, rules and regulations.
• Interact thoughtfully and courteously with students, staff and community.
• Perform other reasonably related duties that the Supervisor may assign.
